Sweet and sour fish



Ingredients
  • 300 g       Chunk of  fish
  • 2 tsp         soy sauce
  • 2 tsp-        purpose flour
  • 300 ml      oil for deep frying
  •  
  • 50 g           green bell pepper, diced
  • 1                onion, diced
  • 150 g         pineapple chunk
  • 2  tsp         white sugar
  •                   salt to taste
  • 3 tsp          ketchup
  • 2 tsp          water
  • 1 tsp          sesame oil
  • 3 tsp          all-purpose flour
Directions
  1. Cut fish into bite-size pieces. Place in a mixing bowl and combine with soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of flour. Let stand for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, heat oil in deep-fryer or heavy saucepan  
  2. Deep fry fish pieces until golden brown. Drain on paper towels; set aside.
  3. For the Sauce, saute green pepper, onion and pineapple in a medium skillet for 1 minute. Stir in reserved pineapple juice, sugar, ketchup, water, remaining 2 teaspoons of flour, sesame oil, and salt to taste. Cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve, by dipping fried fish pieces into sauce, or pour the sauce over the fish.
